Once again, 2023 proved to be an exceptionally busy year at PCS. Our commitment to supporting the road industry across the UK led us to collaborate on some significant projects. Here are the highlights:
As part of the franchising initiative of the bus industry in the North West of England, Paul Clark Services were invited to support a major fleet refurbishment of 130 vehicles due to our vast expertise in the industry. With an array of technical capabilities and support options, PCS were the obvious partner during this exciting project. With a dedicated team of over 20 engineers, across two sites, the project has been successfully launched and is well underway for completion in Q1 2024.
IRTEC Accredited Inspectors
PCS engineers have supported the fleet refurbishment in many aspects, non more important that the rigorous inspection of the vehicles. Working closely with the operator, PCS have set a standard for the quality of the vehicle and inspecting to a standard that gives the operator assurance that once the vehicle has completed the programme, that vehicle will return and remain in service.
Engineering Support
Once the vehicle has been thoroughly inspected, our dedicated team of engineers have supported with repairing all body, mechanical and electrical defects to a high standard, working with key stakeholders to highlight failure trends. This supports the efficiency of the project along with the general running of the same vehicle types within the fleet. The broad experience of the team allow for no stone unturned on any vehicle type.
Major Servicing
With franchised bus routes, the reduction of lost milage is crucial to success. In addition to raising the standard of vehicles, our team of engineers have supported with the identification of all major service items based on vehicle age profile and maintenance history and carried out all service requirements during the programme. This reduces vehicle downtime for the operator further when the vehicles return to service.
EV Fleet Support
With the launch of the Bee Network, comes zero emission vehicles. PCS are proud to support major EV OEM’s and give operators onsite reactive support using engineers supporting the project. Supporting our engineers in the local area, PCS have Level 4/5 High Voltage vehicle system diagnosticians and IRTEC Master Technicians available to support as issues arise.

Looking ahead to 2024, we continue to expand our team across the UK and have various opportunities available:
- Across the UK, we are seeking experienced engineers proficient in Eminox aftermarket exhaust diagnostics, servicing, and repairs, with positions available nationwide.
- In the South Central region, we have openings for additional engineers to support the NHS.
- Manchester: We have diverse roles on offer, including supervisory positions and multi-skilled PSV Technicians, for a major bus fleet refurbishment project.
