Supporting Others

At Paul Clark Services (PCS), we believe in giving back to the community and supporting good causes. Over the years, we’ve happily taken part in many events and initiatives to make a positive impact. Helping others is important to us and is part of who we are.

One of our favourite activities is joining the Arriva Charity Golf Classic at the beautiful Formby Hall Golf Resort and Spa. PCS organises teams that compete in a friendly manner in aid of Zoe’s Place Baby Hospice www.zoes-place.org.uk  This wonderful charity helps children and their families live life to the fullest. PCS teams always have a great time, not only supporting a fantastic cause but also enjoying some downtime to socialise and relax.

We also support and sponsor the RouteOne Awards https://routeoneawards.com , celebrating excellence in the transport industry. It’s a joy to be part of recognising the outstanding achievements of those in our field.

In addition, PCS supports local sports teams and schools. We are sponsors of the Penkridge Hurricanes, providing the team with raincoats to keep them protected from the classic British weather. Seeing them thrive and smile is truly rewarding.

For many years, PCS sponsored various youth football clubs in which Paul Clark’s son, Taylor, played. One of his major successes was with Swindon Supermarine Football Club. During his time there, they won the Wiltshire League Division One and the County Cup. On a personal note, Tay was awarded the Division One Top Goal Scorer.

Just before COVID, PCS provided the shirts for the boys’ Under-16s team at Malmesbury School, but COVID meant the shirts had little use. The Head of PE then passed them on to the successful girls’ Under-16s team.

It’s wonderful to see how far our support can go and make a significant difference.

Another memorable event was when Rob Harper and his team embarked on a charity walk along Hadrian’s Wall. The team walked from the Northumbrian coast to the Cumbrian coast, covering 87 miles in 3 days, all to raise money for Cancer Research UK www.cancerresearchuk.org . This event was organised in memory of David Kenwight, who was a friend of PCS engineer Rob Harper, It was inspiring to see so many sponsors come forward to support this worthy cause.

PCS also took part in several Scumrun events, a charity car rally across Europe. Our team entered the run in a Mercedes “E” Class, supporting the WellChild charity www.wellchild.org.uk , which helps sick children and their families. The PCS Scumrun car was all livered up and ready for the adventure. It was a fun and exciting way to raise money for a great cause.

In previous years, PCS engineers have participated in the Scumrun to support the Children’s charity SPARKS www.gosh.org/about-us/sparks-charity . For the third year running, we sponsored a car in the event, highlighting our ongoing commitment to helping children in need.

And for several years PCS supported PCS engineer Andy Batner enjoying success with at various levels of motorcycle racing.

At PCS, supporting others is a core part of who we are. We look forward to continuing our tradition of charitable involvement and making a meaningful impact on the lives of those around us. Together, we can achieve great things and bring about positive change.
